Frustrated Over Refrets

My first experiences with repairing a guitar are not exactly "happy" ones. I have come to find out that no matter what price you pay for a guitar, it is not set-up properly and that there are so many intricacies in the set-up that could (and usually do) go wrong.

So, of all the guitars that I could be tearing apart, I chose my favorite PRS. This was my main gigging ax for the last 2 years solid. I was very pissed to find out that there were so many things wrong with this guitar and that it was far from "perfect" as I thought it was before entering the shop earlier this week. Now it lays is disarray on my workbench at the school, and I am no where near close to having her in functional condition. What I do know is that once I have it all figured out and back together, it will play like no other instrument I have ever fretted.

The thing I am aggravated over is that while everyone else in the class is refretting and essentially bastardizing (not in a bad way, mind you) other instruments that are not their own $1200 investments, but $200 throw-aways that don't really matter if it plays "perfect" or not. This guitar is different. It's expensive. And it's mine. So I want it to play like it did (or better) than when it entered the shop.

I'll check back later.
